All the members of the Governing Council of CBS interact with the students and teach subjects pertaining to their area of specialisation.

 Prof. Sridar Natarajan Dean B.Tech (Hons) IIT Kharagpur , PGDBM (Finance & Systems ) IIM Bangalore
Prof Sridar Natarajan is a Metallurgical Engineer from IIT Kharaghpur (1977-82). After a two-year stint as a Quality Assurance Engineer in Tata Motors Co. (then TELCO), he resigned to pursue his PGDBM at IIM-Bangalore, specializing in Finance and Systems (1984-86).
Most of his post-management career has been at Ernst & Young and member Firms in India and Saudi Arabia (1986-1998) as a management consultant. In E&Y, he has executed a wide range of assignments from developing costing and accounting systems for manufacturing companies and banks to developing business requirements using CASE tools for retail and manufacturing companies. He was involved in a start-up venture in IT-Training for a couple of years before he entered into the teaching profession. He was the Director - MBA of a leading college in Coimbatore for 3 years. Between 2005 and 2007, he has practiced as an independent management consultant - executing assignments on costing and finance and conducting executive development programs for companies in Coimbatore. He has also been a visiting faculty for Finance and Operations in BIM and PSGIM.

Prof.Sridar handles Quantitative Techniques and Financial Management as part of the General Management course and Derivatives for the BFS varsity.

 PERMANENT FACULTY

Prof. R. Sathyanarayanan
Head of Marketing & Communications
Management and Retail Management Varsities.
He has a decade long blend of industry and academic experience in organizations like BIM and CII. In addition to the full-time Academic & Research experience, Prof. Sathyanarayanan has industry experience in the field of marketing, logistics and handling the new product function in a FMCG group.
He is also an invited member of the CII Task force on Entrepreneurship. He has undertaken several consulting assignments including developing blue-print for an unique incubation centre for a leading software MNC, Cluster plan for Small enterprise finance center etc. He is a Gold medalist in marketing and a recipient of University Grants commission's Junior research fellowship. His current research interest is in the areas of retail branding and issues of co-operation & marketing in SME clusters.
The Impact B-Schools in Marketing Awards, 2009 has honoured Prof.Satyanarayanan with the 'Best Professor teaching Marketing Management ' award. This award was adjudged by an independent jury and a panel of professionals who believe in nurturing talent and in recognising the best of the best.

Prof.Sathya teaches Marketing Management as a core subject and Brand Management, Sales and Distribution, Consumer Behaviour and International Marketing as specialisation subjects.


Prof. Palanivelu
Head of IT and Operations Management Varsities.
With a B.E(Hons) in Electrical engineering, Prof. Palanivelu has more than 30 years of progressive experience in information technology with cross functional assignments in marketing and manufacturing and a proven track record of leveraging information technology to deliver bottom line results and building high powered, result oriented teams.He has many years of rich experience in IT industry in General Management and in managing Service operations. He has worked in Bharat Electronics, Fujitsu ICIM, RPG Telecom, RPG Retail and Zensar Technologies in various roles.
 
Prof.Palani teaches Operations Management as a core subject and ERP, Strategic Information systems Planning  and IT in Retail  and Telecom Domain as specialisation subjects.

Dr.Prasanna Sivanandam
Head of Human Resource Varsity

She is a result-oriented professional with over 14 years of experience in teaching and corporate consultancy, besides three years of experience in  responsible management positions in India .She has conducted workshops on parenting  and stress Management for employees  of   Blue chip Companies
like Cognizant Technologies ,Polaris ,Ford  and had also been a regular guest consultant for Britannia Industries. She has been involved in designing curricula, organizing & conducting Training & Professional Effectiveness Programs  for different groups of audiences like Management Executives, Non-Government Organization Executives, General Managers, Engineers, Medical Doctors, Academicians and Students in India. She has completed her Ph D from the University of Madras & MBA at Indira Gandhi University.

Dr.Prasanna teaches Organizational Behaviour and HR Management as core subjects and Training and Development and Strategic HRM as specialisation subjects.
 
 
Ms. Vijaya.C
Ms. Vijaya is a Management graduate in Finance with a merit rank and university gold medal for academic credentials. She has a work experience of 7 years in the financial services industry as well as in well-known B-schools. She has worked in the areas of corporate planning, retail banking and portfolio management in organizations such as HDFC Bank, YCS and Unifi Wealth Management. On the academic front, she has been part of institutions such as ICFAI Business School and Wigan & Leigh. Her teaching interests lie in the areas of finance and accounting and she has developed a number of case studies and articles in management topics currently used by international management institutions.

Ms.Vijaya teaches Financial Accounting and Business Economics as core subjects and Capital Structure and Mutual Funds as specialisation subjects.


Ms.Doris John
Doris John has specialized in developing case studies as pedagogical tools for management education. She has published more than 200 Case Studies and Teaching Notes on the European Case Clearing House (ECCH), with leading international B-Schools like the Manchester Business School, University of Bath, Kingston University etc. using them regularly in their curriculum. She was the first runner-up in the IIMB-Tata Steel Prize (a cash prize of Rs. One Lac.) for the best cases in the competition conducted by British Council along with the Nottingham University Business School International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility and the IIMB Centre for Corporate Governance and Citizenship. She is a management graduate from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management (BIM) and has both industry and academic experience. She was involved in academic publishing with Icfai and has also handled client servicing and PR assignments.

Ms.Doris teaches Principles of Management as a core subject and Marketing Management as aspecialisation subject.

Dr. U. Jayalakshmi Srikumar
Having obtained here doctorate, has been teaching for 14 years now. Apart from teaching she has been actively involved in empirical research in the areas of development economics, small – scale industries, industrial sickness, environment management and policy impact studies. She has a number of publications in national referred journals to her credit. Two of her papers ‘SMEs and Environment Management’ and ‘SMEs and Global Competitiveness’ have won awards at the PSG Institute of Management and IBS Kolkata – Telegraph award for ‘Excellence in Management Writing’.

Mr.Balchand Parayath
Has over 35 years of work experience in the textile, oil and business/IT consulting industries. Main focus area has been managing multi-locational manufacturing operations for Madura Coats and Castrol. Was looking after the Supply Chain and Supplier Relationship Management practices in the consulting division of Satyam Computer Services Limited. After retirement, currently is an Advisor to an IT start-up and a supply chain consulting company and a co-ordinator for an NGO.

Mr.V.P. Raman
Graduated as the Best Outgoing Student of the 3 year LLB course form the Indian Law Society, Pune in 2004. Leading practitioner at the BAR council in Tamil Nadu He has been teaching at the ICSI Institute, LIBA and executive programs of LIBA, CBS and National Management School(NMS).
Mr.V.P. Raman’s practice is primarily in Litigation and involves issues relating to Constitutional Law, Commercial Law including Intellectual Property Rights, Arbitration and Criminal law.


VISITING FACULTY

Prof.Vijayaraghavan.S.V, ACA (Chartered Accountancy), MBA (IIM, Bangalore)
In addition to being a Chartered Accountant , Prof.Vijayaraghavan holds an MBA degree from IIM, Bangalore He has held a number of very senior positions in a wide spectrum of industries. In his capacity as Director, Finance ISOFT R&D Pvt. Ltd and CFO, Thinksoft Global Services Pvt. Ltd., he has independently handled the finance and accounts operations and has vast experience in the areas of Financial Management, Financial Accounting, Costing, Statutory Audit, Central Excise, Credit Control in diverse industries such as Automobiles, Financial Services, IT (Hardware and Software).
Currently he is visiting faculty at a number of premier educational institutions. He teaches Financial and Cost management and related courses.

Prof. Aravind Narasipur
Aravind Narasipur is an engineering graduate with 16 years of industry experience, mostly in the field of IT-related Quality Assurance and has been a visiting faculty at ICFAI, Bangalore and CBS, Chennai. He teaches Managerial Statistics and Business Research Methods.


Prof. Srinivasan Suresh Charted Accountant, Cost Accountant MBA from Bradford Business School, UK. Over 20 years of industry experience, serving companies like TATA Steel, IDBI, McDermott (Texas based), Emirates Airlines. Currently running a Management Consultancy based out of Chennai.

The Executive Education at CBS is being spearheaded by Prof. A. Panneer Selvam

Prof. A.Panneer Selvam
Prof. A. Panneer Selvam is a PGDBA from St.Josephs and he is incharge of Placement and Executive Education of CBS. Formerly, he was the Head of Retail varsity for two years at CBS. He has totally 23 years of experience in Retail Marketing, in various senior positions.
He worked with Dunlop India Ltd. for 14 years in various senior managerial capacities, which includes a stint as Regional Sales Manager for southern region.
Prof. Panneer Selvam was a practising SAP consultant with Pentafour on sales & distribution module. He was also heading a Malaysian multinational infrastructure company for their Indian operations for 6 years.
